He just lacks that social filter. It's understandably got him in trouble and is the reason he will never be accepted by those he sees as his rightful peers.
It's not courage. It's being a self-sabotaging idiot that doesn't even comprehend why it makes him an outcast.

I see some automation coming down the line, but it's not what Blob thinks it's going to be. In his Superiah Futchah, Boston Dynamics robot dogs and warehouse machines combined with self-driving cars and tractors will render the "brutes" and rurals obsolete. The only jobs left will be jobs for Thinkers in mega cities like technology, media, and retail. Everyone else will have to repent to the alter of consoomption or perish in the rural wastelands.

Thing is, his precious bugmen jobs are the ones that have lost ground do to automation. Go to a grocery store and see how many registers are self-checkout. Or look at McDs and notice how the lobby has maybe one register with everything else being touchscreen and app-based ordering. They haven't gone full robots but they don't really need to and they can hire a fraction of the people they would have needed 20 years ago.

Media hasn't been automated but has been devalued over the years because of the internet. Maybe at one point it was a prestigious job where you needed a degree and you had to dig for a big scoop or something, but nowadays reporting and reviewing can be done by any semi-literate jackoff (eg. Movieblob). If we had templates or some sort of AI for generating boilerplate news junkets we'd need them even less.

Tech might be the only thing that would be spared, but it's been said that programmers are basically building themselves out of a job. Decades ago you might have needed to build software solutions and site designs from scratch but now there are frameworks and CRMs that take a lot of that heavy lifting out of development. New languages and tools come out leaving developers constantly needing to keep up or get left behind. And if they can't do it, don't worry. There are pajeets with work visas who will do it for less as long as you dangle the potential of sponsoring their citizenship over their heads.

Blob can preen about Boston Dynamic robots and smugly tweet "Tick tock tick tock" all he wants but city workers won't be spared either.

It really shouldn't take too much work to train an AI to write inane critial race theory articles and/or gigabrain movie reviews.

I was reading an article today that was basically just the reporter reposting something he read on Plebbit. Shouldn't be too hard to train an AI to do that.
Not to mention the plethora of 'And that's a good thing' headlines. They're a bunch of NPCs already

The blue collar jobs are going to die off much slower than the bugmen "intellectual" jobs, that's for sure. And that means the Mobieblobs of the world, who live exclusively from digital welfare through Patreon and such, will be left in the lurch because their paypigs won' thave enough for themselves.

And that's entirely false. Automation can take care of repetitive, very specific motions. That's about it. We don't have any self-driving cars or tractors at all. Even corn harvesters, that practically drive themselves on an allotted land, have to have a driver that takes care of the chopping width at all times and even then they fail at a spectacularly rate.

Just about none. If they are, you have at least one person per two self-checkouts keeping watch, because people can't be trusted to handle them correctly or not steal.
Overall, you'll be faster sitting that one person on an actual register.

They have one terminal that takes the order. That's it. It saves just about no time outside of rush hours.
You have still a person that makes the burgers and one to take the payment.

It has. You can find entirely AI-genrated top ten lists right now. They get the clicks, which is all that matters.

Funny that Blob would use the term "too stupid to exist" because it describes him perfectly.

From working the health sector I can't see too much automation happening there any time soon. Maybe your doctor could be just a pill dispenser but the hypothetical robotic nursing staff would at least have to get past the uncanny valley (think System Shock 2 Cyborg Midwife I guess), not to mention they perform a variety of complex tasks, especially wound dressing, and constantly need to adjust to the current situation.
It's a trap!

The fanciest in terms of robotics I know of is a pair of waldos for use in surgery. A surgeon could perform a surgery from a different continent (though that will probably never become a standard procedure due to what could happen if the internet connection starts acting up), or you could use miniature waldos to help with high-precisionn cuts and shit.
And yet, you still need a surgeon.

You think automation is a threat until you actually deal with some of these robots.
