Shaman Kang is lowkey based and kino.
Re: What are you playing?
I don't think that's entirely accurate. I copy and paste its posts into a search engine and they turn up nothing.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Thu Mar 24, 2022 3:28 pmI understand it grabs actual posts made somewhere. I don't understand why.
Could it be possible that your anti-spam measures are preventing it from posting any links?

Possibly. I don't mess around with any of the back end stuff so I wouldn't know.

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers
If you can get over the questionable voxel graphics, it's definitely a proper EDF experience (even if the maps are a bit small).
The main gimmick here is that you control a 4 man tag-team, though unlike regular EDF everyone can only equip a single weapon (not counting whatever special and super move they might have). Enemy drops this time around only benefit you within the actual mission (aka no armor and weapon boxes). Armor increases by a set amount if you complete a mission, and any kind of equipment is gained from rescuing blokes (who will then either become playable or level up an existing bloke, which unlocks more weapon groups for that bloke).
The main nostalgia boner comes from the game featuring every playable character that has ever appeared in an EDF game - including the gaijin spinoff Insect Armageddon, which is nice since that game had some fun weapons that have never made it into the main series (like say an autocannon that shoots exploding bullets like some kind of grenade launcher on acid).
The "World Brothers (and Sisters)" part comes in with the new playable characters, which is a colorful and diverse selection of racist stereotypes from all over the world. I'm still hoping to find some kind of "Dirndl Sister" to feel fully represented, but the "GSG Brother" (who looks like he's straight out of Kerberos Saga) will do until then.
The plot and dialogue is of course even more nonsensical than usual, with frequent fourth-wall-breaking (like when they keep pointing out how your first battle against a kaiju can't be won and you just have to hit it until you trigger its retreat event).
I also like how the characters all have more personality than they did in the original (except for the EDF1 Ranger; his running gag is that he didn't really have a voice actor). The EDF5 Air Raider is my personal favorite. He just keeps referencing historical battles and generals like some nerd or something.

I think the visuals of World Brothers are pretty shit. The whole lego thing doesn't mesh with EDF at all. EDF as a series pays more homage to 1950s monster movies and even earlier pulp science fiction. It has nothing to do with legoshit. This is not a chocolate and peanut butter situation. More like chocolate and cauliflower. The characters also seem very one-note and have less customization than classes from the old games. The racist stereotypes are fun though. Japs sure love being racist!

I myself am a very gambling man, and I love to play in the casino, although I understand how bad it is, but I play there only for fun, I do not consider it a profit, it all started with a gamble in the usual games, and when I tried fun888asia was hard to restrain his excitement. I succeeded. Nowadays, the Internet is more and more closely linked to people's daily lives. Having taken the principle of the slot machine and adapted it into an online casino, it has become a favorite online slot of all players.
