I mean, I guess it's nitpicking if you think Chun is 1 or Ken is 1. I still say Chun is 1 because she always has fucking super and she has BS pokes as well. Like that one where her hitbox scrapes the ground while she covers near half of the screen. That shit. And her pokes combo into super. So you get a random low hit confirm and go into super. Even at top level play, I see fuckers doing this shit. Even at Evo they do this.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 7:20 amKen is 1, Chun is 2, because without super she is top five at best.
She goes 6-4 with almost everyone and 7-3 or better with the lower tier characters.
Ken is mega bullshit too though. He has the same hit confirm into super scrub combo that always works, plus god-tier pokes generally and ex DP. He's shoto, so he's also not hard to use. Compare with Twelve, where you need to be a fucking grandmaster to do anything with him and everything he has deals shit damage.
You can tell Third Strike has terrible balance when the majority of players use one of about 5 characters.
Chun
Ken
Yun
Dudley
Akuma
Urien can go in here too
The saddest part is Ryu in Third Strike is actually interesting. He doesn't play like normal Ryu. He has a super that acts as a pseudo piledriver (in terms of damage) and all three supers have merits. He has donkey kick and is built around overall high damage per hit. But he's not top 1 or top 2, so people play Kick Super Ken instead.
Third Strike is a decent game and all, but it has many flaws. I think people overlook how flawed it is because of the sprite art and style of the game.
