Ditkos are suing Marvel

Probably won't go anywhere (like the Siegel or Kirby lawsuits) but, if it does, bye-bye Spider-Man. No more comics. No more movies. No more video games and no more cartoons

Yeah, these types of lawsuits are almost never successful because it all hinges around 'Work-For-Hire' contracts. But, it's still very interesting because Steve Ditko never said shit while he was alive but now his heirs are suing the shit out of Marvel.

In the very least we'll probably get some juicy behind the scenes details of who exactly created what. Stan Lee already conceded that Doctor Strange was Ditko's idea

With Every one whos ever worked with (((Stan Lee))) Having turned around and sued him you might start to think that the guy who helped invent and popularize capeshit-Just might-be a hack fraud. (not that I feel sorry for all the suckers who worked with him)

One of the catches with copyright termination notices is that, if granted, they only count toward the U.S. rights for the work and also do not include any of the derivative works made from it originally. The notices filed by Patrick J. Ditko, nephew of the prolific artist, are specifcially seeking to terminate the copyright on the Spider-Man story from Amazing Fantasy #15 and the Doctor Strange story from Strange Tales #110. Both of these are the official origin stories for both characters but also introduced other major Marvel characters into the canon like The Ancient One, Wong, Aunt May, and Uncle Ben.

They may have to replace Peter Parker with Miles Morales for good and call him the Arachnid instead. I highly doubt this will forever prevent Marvel from ever having a spider-themed, web-slinging capeshitter around.
Or maybe they'll replace him with Japanese Spider-Man. He's the best and most different derivative work.

I want Marvel to fully lose the rights to Spider-Man and cancel everything with the character, just to see every annoying MCU stan and consoomer seethe (especially after they cheered on Disney when they purchased 20th Fox Century), but the most likely outcome is that Marvel will just have to write a paycheck to the Ditko Estate every time they use the character.
