Boris the Betrayer declared gas-powered vehicles will be banned by 2030.
I feel just about anyone except Germany and some based Eastern countries have already done the same thing.

So, he's doing what Theresa May was doing?

2030 is a meme. You can't kill the car industry and expect everyone to either comply or be ready to switch in 9 years. They would be lucky to have it done by 2040

There's no chance Krautland will have the infrastructure to keep all those potential e-cars running, which is why nobody but the most idiotic Green members are advocating a similar move.
I think they're currently working on financial help for people buying their own quick-load station to install at home, but Kraut homes weren't necessarily built to handle such a power spike for several hours.
Heck, I'm not even sure our network in general will handle everyone plugging in their shiny e-car for a comfy overnight charge.

The infrastructure is obviously not there, just imagine a lot of people trying to charge while on the autobahn, except every full charge takes at least half an hour.... but something tells me that won't stop them from trying.
Our electricity is already at top expensive rates for.. SOME REASON.. so I'm looking forward to them trying to fix it by increasing the power consumption even more.
Here's to hoping Britain gets to it first and crashes spectacularly so the idiots here who think that's a good idea finally see "the light"..
That seems still painfully optimistic though.
It's a trap!

Non issue. You can't even make enough batteries for that many cars. Hydrogen fuel cells are the future and electric cars will remain a niche thing, good for specific situations.
Trucks alone will make sure of that. There is no plan for electric trucks but hydrogen motors are almost there. Shortly after, all the regular cars will follow.

That's a relief since I think they did actually try electric cars a real long time ago and they didn't catch on then.

There are plans for e-trucks. They will fail, but they're are a thing.

Search any non-Google search engine and you'll find various articles telling you how E-Cars are worse polluters by virtue of their creation and disposal. I just cherry picked a random article, but any non-Google search yields plenty to choose from! I truthfully don't know what this obsession is with killing fossil fuels for just as bad, if not worse forms of pollution.
