A few claim to be Reagan but they were nothing like him. Reagan knew when to establish order and threaten nukes. He was man enough to give no shits about the black community and the ERA idiots.

Re: God Emperor Megathread (Trump and his presidency)
SO, what do you think of Trump's chances in November as of now? The polls and the media are telling us that he's doomed. More than one right wing commentator has turned on him.
The way I see it.
PRO:
- Trump lead us to a great economy and I think he can do it again.
- Even if you don't like him, a Trump vote is a vote against all of the "woke" culture war horseshit that we see everyday and I think that a LOT of people are on the "right" side of that.
- His opponent is slipping mentally and babbling all over the place while Trump remains solid and coherent and comfortable when addressing an audience.
- I believe in the "silent majority" who want conservatives in power because I'm one of those silent poeple. I don't talk about my politics on social media or with co-workers because I don't want to risk the repurcussions. Maybe I'm a wimp, but I'm an employed wimp who never worries about my house being vandalized. I save that shit for my lady and for YOU, dear DHI.
- EVERYTHING that the media is saying about Trump's chances in November, they were also saying in 2016.
CON:
- Trump has been remarkably weak when it comes to the civil unrest lately. He doesn't seem to know what to do with it. He's an economy guy. He's not a cultural crisis guy. He talks big talk on Twitter, but doesn't follow through.
- While Blue states fall into anarchy, Red States that embraced re-opening see huge spikes in China Virus numbers. Do I trust those statistics? No, but some people do freak out over them. I live in Texas and we're a mess right now. I half-expect us to go into full April flashback lockdown any week now. If so, that will reflect badly on our Republican governor and, thus, reflect badly on Trump.
Meanwhile, the debates and Biden's VP choice could still sway this thing BIG.
The way I see it.

I mean people said he was doomed back in 2016 and look what happened. Those hacked emails, the seeming deteriorated health and the other negatives of Clinton, Trump seemed like a better fit. But once porridge brains runs out, a whoh-man would take his place. Shocking I know.

Telling a woman your plans is always a mistake. She will betray you the second you show weakness in her mind.Lindsay's Liver wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 4:09 pmSO, what do you think of Trump's chances in November as of now? I don't put any stock into debates. They're overrated. During the primaries people may use them to decide who to vote for because people really may be undecided then, but come the general election the debates are more of a spectator sport where people watch to see "their guy" win rather than to make a decision. They're more about candidates dropping some kind of witty quote that they can use as a sound byte in campaign ads. I don't believe many people are swayed by debate performances in the general election.Lindsay's Liver wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 4:09 pmMeanwhile, the debates and Biden's VP choice could still sway this thing BIG.

You joke but every man has experienced the consequences of showing weakness around a woman they thought they could trust. Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

The more important thing is what does Trump think of Trump's chances?Lindsay's Liver wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 4:09 pmSO, what do you think of Trump's chances in November as of now?
Watch him. In 2016 when that tape came out and he thought he was finished he said to himself 'If I'm going to go down I'm going to go down swinging'. He's the President of the United States now and what he knows about the country could tear it apart. He also probably knows, instinctively, that if he loses this election his opponent is never going to let him ride off into the sunset and live in peace. If he thinks he's in danger it will start to show.
I really don't think the VP pick will sway anything. The VP is usually for behind-the-scenes backdoor politicking like Pence has been for Trump or Biden himself was for Obama. Biden wants to lean on the VP to get him over the finish, it's not going to work. His VP pick will have about three months to build up the enthusiasm that hasn't been there for the last two years.Lindsay's Liver wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 4:09 pmMeanwhile, the debates and Biden's VP choice could still sway this thing BIG.
