After two years of covid lockdowns and restrictions, as well as politicians even now trying their best to maintain restrictions indefinitely, I would say it's neither surprising nor altogether incorrect to hear the word 'authoritarian' bandied about so casually

The left has gotten extremely authoritarian over the years. Funny how those cocksuckers go from anarchist nonsense in their early youth to hardcore pro-state enforcement.
Sure, they may say they oppose the police but that just means their want minorities to be permitted anything they want. They will still call the cops over fireworks or someone not wearing a mask.

That's the process that quickly turns liberal Socialism into Communism. The origin of that is the messianic nature of Socialism itself, and ideology that portraits it as the way the save mankind from being oppressed and exploited, so of course they're justified into crushing anyone who doesn't submit to salvation. At the end of the day, it's Individualism vs. Collectivism, and that's why the Left behaves exactly like Fascists the more they radicalized themselves into Collectivist ideas.
