Alternative Tech

Given the 1984-Teir censorship that has pluaged the Internet I think it's time to help & encourage other users on this site to pursue and use alternative e-mails, web browsers, etc. So we won't have to worry about misinformed with political correctness, or kicked off the net for being bad goys, and keep our anonymity while doing so.
I myself have struggled to find a good alternative due to many sites like Duckduck and Startpage, where in spite of how they advertise themselves as private servers dispite being just as bad if not worse then google, but I hope with this thread we can find a better alternative.
