I hate talking to people.
It's painful.
Sometimes I wonder if it's just because I don't have anybody worth talking to (family).
I've been able to talk to people before, I've even been to parties a couple times and they went alright.
I can't tell if I lost something or if I was always this way.

I was good at banter pre-woke. I was not especially attractive physically, but could be funny and engage people for a little while. These days I'm afraid to make any kind of jokes because of what snowflakes many people are. I just don't want to deal with triggered assholes.

I emailed my resignation letter this morning. I thought it would be a huge relief, but I just feel like shit about it. (I've never quit a job before.) Maybe the relief will come later.
The pastor never responded at all... I think I took him by surprise and probably hurt him. I wanted to talk to him about it in person yesterday, but he was busy the whole day. The employment agency has been cool about it. They told me his expectations were unreasonable and they support this action.

Just thought you guys should know that I actually did take most of your advice.

Good, but I still say you shouldn't talk to that pastor dude at all anymore.

I remember one time, a few years ago, I was hanging out with a girlfriend's family. All the guys (I didn't know) were waiting on a corner, while the ladies were off doing whatever. We were waiting for them. I made a completely offhand, casual joke about "oh the men are always waiting on the ladies." The kind of joke I probably heard 1000 times when I was growing up.

The dude I was with (gf's stepdad) said nothing about this. But apparently, it offended him SO MUCH, and my gf later told me that I had said something "extremely sexist" and made him mad.

So that was the day I learned to not talk to normies. In my mind, it was the most harmless kind of "lol guys club" humor imaginable. Dad jokes for dad folks. And this was a few years ago, too, not like now. But I guess that's how shit is. I was totally out of line to express the joking (and also usually true) sentiment that men take less time than women to go places.
