I mean, in my defence I never said Bush was some 500 IQ genius. Just much closer to a midwit, the kind that's common in the DC establishment and the top levels (really all levels but especially the top levels) of academia, than the out-and-out retard that coping liberals tried to make him out to be.

Shitlibs were right to hate him, which is like the last thing they were ever right about, but they were wrong to underestimate him. Listen to the substance of that prank call. He knew he was breaking the NATO agreement with Gorbachev not to expand NATO and he knew this and offering Ukraine NATO membership and EU membership would probably provoke Russia into armed conflict, which he could use to enrich his buddies in the arms manufacturing business, which is what this current conflict has accomplished.

He was smart enough to do all that.
