Apparently the Brits are also planning drastic tax cuts (mostly affecting rich people, of course), hoping the (potential) boost to the economy will more than make up for the additional shitload of debt they have to take to balance this out.
All while the entire world is heading towards a recession.
I just keep asking: Whatever happened to those billions of pounds the Brexit would've given them for free?

You mean the Brexit the political class didn't want and desperately tried to worm their way out of? The one that three successive British Prime Ministers were against? That Brexit?VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 3:11 pmI just keep asking: Whatever happened to those billions of pounds the Brexit would've given them for free?

Yeah, but the ones that were for it were calling it the best thing since tea, saying that - among other things - it would free up more than enough cash to fix any and all financial problems they might have for healthcare.
Then their healthcare got into an even worse financial state than ever before.

Firstly, one of the ones you are claiming were 'for' it (I assume you're referring to Boris Johnson) was not actually for it. Numerous times as mayor of London he touted strong ties with the European Union as reason why businesses should come to London. And he didn't actually expect to 'win' the Brexit referendumVoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 3:17 pmYeah, but the ones that were for it were calling it the best thing since tea, saying that - among other things - it would free up more than enough cash to fix any and all financial problems they might have for healthcare.

Secondly, is this a novel concept to you? Politicians lying to rip the plebs off? No shit it was a lie. Everybody knew it was a lie at the time. 'Millions more for muh NHS' had very little to do with the referendum's success.
Total autonomy over Britain's laws, Britain's borders and Britain's economy should have led to greater prosperity for Britain, yes. But Britain's problem is that it continues to be led by the same group of economically illiterate, functionally retarded co-opted globalist shills after the referendum that it was before the referendum. So no surprise that the economy is going to shit the way it is.

An aggressive tax cut, followed by an aggressive public expenses cut, could do wonders for a failing economy. The problem is doing that during an energy crisis, which means your economy can't grow anyway.
