Wasn't California a free state? It wasn't even part of the United States until 1850

True, but my point is that slavery wasn't even legal in California for the ten years between its admission into the United States and the Civil War. Before that it was owned by Mexico. So muh reparations for slavery in this instance could not be a bigger and more pointless virtue signal seeing as California never had anything to do with the slave trade, and slavery was never legal there.

If they want to virtue signal over something, California used to have the biggest indigenous population in America until the Americans and the Mexicans wiped most of them out. There are, as we know, still plenty of Mexicans in California. Why not pay what's left of the Natives muh reparations instead?

The democrats absolutely should run on giving out $233,000 reparations checks.

Unfortunately the only consequences to them in Commiefornia will be more people fleeing the state. Which just means more immigrants to replace them
