Don't think for a second there aren't people who are just happy to go there and say they were at the Olympics representing their country with the only goal being that they get a personal best.

This is true. However, most athletes who think like this tend to come from shitholes and couldn't give the slightest shit about BLM. They're also proud to come and represent their country and wouldn't even think of embarrassing them like the spoiled shits from Western nations do.

Bottom line, I think the only people who will defy the Olympic committee on this issue are athletes like Lebron who don't need the Olympics.

I’m sure these other governments did a feasibility study, where inevitably some athlete will cross the line and protest something in their own country rather than the approved BLM narrative. And it just wasn’t worth the risk.


Better to let the American athletes be the ones to embarrass themselves and present their nation as a poor human rights tragedy. The optics that the U.S. is evil and weak and worse than anything at home.

It's the 70s all over again, with a weak US president getting the West trampled by the Communist propaganda machine. I suppose the parallels will get even stronger when Biden finally croacks and Kamala gets the position without the direct popular mandate.

USA gymnastics and swimming is fucked for the next several generations because the organization that oversees this shit got pozzed and purged all the hard ass coaches to protect women. The wokescolds running things are probably encouraging every athlete to be on the right side of history.
