27 of the states are constitutional carry though.

That's Somalia. Check it out. I doubt you want to be there.Rapeculture wrote: ↑Fri Aug 11, 2023 8:42 pmReading this thread actually makes me want to live in a lawless society where everyone has a fucking gun and can end your life in the blink of an eye, so nobody would want to fuck around and find out, not even (((them))) or nignogs. Man made laws are gay as fuck. Survival of the fittest or nothing.
We don't need no laws. We need hard, immovable social rules and brutal law.
I'm with you that an armed society is a polite society. But that only goes for a population with a self-preserving instinct. Otherwise you get Africa kinda shit.

Open carry? Concealed carry always requires a permit as far as I know. You don't get to just stuff a gun down your pants and have it be legal.
Open carry means everyone can see exactly what you have and knows where it is at all times. Open carry is also a license to get hassled by cops, business owners and Karens everywhere you go (if you live in the city.) Even with open carry, there are some public and private spaces where you are not allowed to go with your gun. CCW can go basically anywhere though. Maybe not into courthouses or police buildings. Other than that, should be good anywhere.
What we need is to instill the Fear of Law back into citizens. I don't know if it's lenient sentencing, lack of good parenting, absence of strong moral role models or garden-variety degeneracy, but people need to fear the law as they used to.brutal law
Armed societies can kind of do this, after a fashion. If a bank robber knows that there's a good chance of CCW holders in any bank he robs, he might think twice. It doesn't get covered much in the news, but sometimes concealed carry weapons permit holders DO stop crimes (like spree killings) by shooting the criminal.
Going to prison for a couple years may not be an effective deterrent, but a bullet sure is.
On the subject of less-lethal weapons, I know relatives who carry stun guns with them and the noise apparently works well to ward off loose dogs.

Open carry is illegal in Florida but permitless concealed carry became legal this year. I'm not sure of the situation in other places.rabidtictac wrote: ↑Fri Aug 11, 2023 11:59 pmOpen carry? Damn, that's nuts. Based DeSantis I guess? I've never heard of legal permitless concealed carry. Usually open-carry is legal in most states but concealed carry is heavily regulated.RedLine wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 1:23 amOpen carry is illegal in Florida but permitless concealed carry became legal this year. Depends heavily on where you live and it sounds like the majority of populous cities in America do not allow it. Good news for mad bum.Can you conceal carry in the US without a permit?
Most States Don't Require Concealed Carry Permits
Permitless carry states allow adults to carry concealed handguns without licenses. Though most states have permitless carry laws, the majority of Americans live in states that still require a permit or license to carry a concealed firearm.
I checked and permitless concealed carry is indeed a crime in my state. Feelsbadman

The way prisons are is a big part of the issue.rabidtictac wrote: ↑Fri Aug 11, 2023 11:59 pmGoing to prison for a couple years may not be an effective deterrent, but a bullet sure is.
Putting someone into a prison for a couple of years is a fairly new concept and one I find doesn't work anymore.
Some prisons are way too comfortable. Especially Scandinavia is guilty of that.
Other prisons are nothing but a training ground for gangs.
We should replace light sentencing with good old stuff like canings and public humiliations.
Prisons should be the most miserable place you can imagine where people get completely broken into submission. Again, enforced with brutal beatings.
Make executions public again! Behead and hang a couple of motherfuckers.
We live in completely authoritarian states but have none of the benefits of those.
Let some dipshit youth amass a huge criminal record before any true punishment? How about he gets 15 strikes to the soles of his feet the first time around he gets caught for robbery.
And most importantly, we need to make not working not an option anymore for anyone physically able to.
Poverty doesn't foster crime. Nor does it terrible behaviour of any other kind. The lack of responsibilities and repercussions does.

Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

Starship Troopers was correct to argue that voting rights should be tied to military service.
