As far as bagging goes, while we don't have those, the commissioners that pack the wares at the wholesale aren't any better.
On my old phone I had dozens of pictures of "rollies" stacked by utter retards. Classics include boxes of wild bird seeds on chips or canisters of anti-freeze on yoghurt. Or a display of mayonnaise jars that had fallen over just sent out, making for a wonderful surprise when you remove the cardboard hull and have glass and mayo pour out of it like a waterfall.

That's how my local Wal-Mart operates. Scan and load up all your groceries, the scale takes a shit, and the one lone on duty cashier comes over and hits the override button. No, they aren't going to fix it, because the company that gleefully sacked minimum wage employees sure as hell isn't paying a scale calibration tech $25.00 an hour to repair it.

I can't wait for self driving taxis and semi-trucks and the resulting clusterfucks from the same shitty maintenance.

The employees at the store usually can't bag my groceries better than I can. I say that in all modesty, not being any kind of bagging savant. They're just usually incompetent at it and they have better things to do. I'd rather bag mine myself, so as to not have my eggs and car batteries in the same bag.

I was a grocery cashier way back in the day and the first thing they taught us was how to bag groceries. I've forgotten most of it but there was an actual process that I immediately noticed nobody else ever used. They just jam a shit ton of stuff into one bag while staring at their phones.

I was never taught to bag groceries, but it's not too hard. Just build a square and put the heavy shit on the bottom. Put eggs in their own bag and don't put anything heavy on them. Double bag frozen stuff and meat so it doesn't melt and destroy the bag (if you're forced to use paper rather than plastic.)

I don't understand how some of these cashiers have enough brainpower to live. Whenever I let someone else bag the groceries, I always regret it.
