Have you seen competitive karate? It's the same shit, no wonder karate guys get their heads kicked in when they try MMA.

MMA revealed which martial arts are worth a shit, kickboxing, boxing, judo, Jujitsu, wrestling and one or two more I can't remember on the top of my head. Most martial arts are trash.

The original Olympics, with naked men running around Olympia and then wrestling in Greco-Roman fights, weren't as gay as the modern pozzed shit, despite the existence of female beach volleyball and Michelle Jenneke.

Silly me, hoping that olympic karate would involve contact. Y'know, since it's fucking karate. A hard martial art that emphasizes contact.

There's a saying that no military strategy survives contact with the enemy. One could easily amend that to say that no "pure" martial art survives full-contact sparring. Just as in the strategy example, the point is that every martial art is tempered by experience of what works. The more times you fight against a resisting opponent, the more you learn what movements are fundamentally solid and which are not. That's one reason every martial art starts to look the same in full-contact sparring settings.

Olympic fencing just makes me laugh, because imagine if the swords were sharp. Both competitors would be fucking dead! Each one would skewer the other, and what would it matter if one was 1/100th of a second faster? Your computer point scoring tool won't keep you from fucking dying! Humans aren't electronics that switch off when a blade parts the flesh, either. Then there's the matter of what you do if the opponent moves in a way that your fencing school didn't predict. Like, say, if they allow you to stab through their arm so they can close distance and cut out your throat. Or if they just bull rush you against a wall and prison shank it up.

Thing is, fencing isn't even interesting to watch. Wrestling is also fake as shit, but at least you get to see some interesting acrobatics from time to time. Fencing is just dumb.

Even boxing is pozzed. The headgear makes it a point game that gets decided by corrupt judges. Now that the women are covering up, there is literally no point in watching this lame anti-Western shit anymore. End the Olympics. I knew a lot of ,karate was bullshit. But the thing is, there are kenpo practitioners out there who do the whole conditioning + full contact thing. It doesn't look very different from kickboxing tbh. So there's no particular reason why the gay olympics should go with the bullshido version of karate over the real deal.

Modern Olympic martial arts is a clear betrayal to the legacy of Pankration. If they're so afraid of the contestants hurting each other, they might as well just play Virtua Fighter.

Olympic fencing is gay as fuck though, because they use machines for everything and there's zero force. It's a game of tag with blunted metal pointers.

I swear nothing is more disappointing than watching your first Olympic fencing match.
Imagine if they did like actual swashbuckling.
Or better yet: Imagine if they ditched this gay fencing and gave us longsword duels.

But the one superior to them all is Aikido. Fortunately for everyone else, true Aikido masters are too spiritual and enlightened to compete in such brutish games.

The majority teach the bullshido variant. Same with Taekwondo or however it's spelled.

Point is, if you find a dojo that teaches full contact variants, you might as well just take kickboxing instead.
Even that seems to have bullshido versions now.
