It is somewhat different in large cities but the SMV argument still holds water. If you don't have/spend lots of money and you aren't very handsome then I wouldn't bother with online dating.
Simply put, for every one woman on a dating website there are 1,000 guys on there trying to date that woman. You really want to waste your time on those odds?
