Surprising nobody who lives in Oregon. Seriously, the number of people I've seen this year who either can't afford housing or wouldn't be able to afford housing if they didn't already have a locked-in mortgage? Bruh. You could make $20+ an hour and still not be able to afford a place to live because the cost of living here is so fucking high. Real estate is totally out of reach for many people. A studio apartment could be $1500 a month. And I don't mean "in the center of downtown, five minutes from the bus station." Any old place. A rathole apartment in the ghetto could be $1000 a month.

The economy is totally fucked. The working class is fucked too. $15 an hour minimum wage won't help, because corporations will automate as much as they can and prices will keep spiraling anyway (driving down real wages.)

Biden should be a free W for them when he comes up for reelection. But with so many people poverty-stricken right now, and the extremely high cost of having a family...
