It does affect us, though - much more expensive fuel prices, transport will have to detour from going through the Suez Canal, the always looming prospect of the Western nations running to defend their Israeli masters.

The real problem is if the USA decides to send troops and officially declare war on every other muslim country in the middle east that we haven't fucked over yet. The afghanistan shit is nothing next to a US/Jizzrael occupation of Iran. Shit could even get escalated to nuclear levels.
