That’s a good point - one of the biggest detriments of this new one.

I think Cruise had too much input honestly.

Shit, what tipped your inquisitive mind off? The fact the he's a smug as shit manlet throughout or that he gets to sit in a seat with a green screen behind him like a streamer to make millions?
Or perhaps that he's got 90% of the remaining power of Scientology as a free labour force behind him?
Do please tell how you got that vibrant, fresh take, that I am just dying to get for my next brunch to utterly shock people with!

I would’ve just preferred it if he had less control - some of his recent action movies are still fun but his basically shadow directing many of them makes them vanity projects. Like the first ones good because Tony Scott can do goofy well.

Well, removing all the gayness of the original is a very noticeable form of CPP appeasement.
Are you suggesting that it has nothing to do with Cruise running an international fudge packing operation inside his closet?

I don't know who was behind the obvious astroturf nor why they did it, but the final result couldn't have been different:
>shit movie flops
>obvious forced memes get pushed on social media
>out of touch executives think it's a sure sign of popularity, re-release shit movie
>flops even harder

So dumb. But I'm really curious about the motivation behind this.

Jared Leto failed so hard at being a legit actor so bad he single handedly killed the credibility if method acting so mow he’s trying to be the new Tommy Wiseau embarressing

I have no idea why Jared Leto is a thing. To me, he's just the leader of a radio rock band and the dude that got axed by Bateman.
I don't particularly mind him but he's somehow got close to zero personality for a guy that's supposedly a bit eccentric.

He's like a shallower copycat of Marylin Manson.

For the movie blokes? The consoomer-economical complex believes that twitter trends reflect the will of the people (instead of just twitter trends).
For the meme forcer? To troll the consoomer-economical complex.

Then again, there are also weirdoes who fill entire wikis with fake video games and movies that never existed. Maybe this time they tried to appropriate a movie that actually did exist?

Sony Pictures is run by severely out-of-touch, nigger-pandering, money-laundering dipshits? Shocker.
The leaked emails from several years ago were a dead giveaway on their nonexistent integrity.

Watched the new Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island.

This movie has a really bizarre origin. Basically Tomino threw a huge autistic temper tantrum and banned an episode of the show for reasons nobody understands. So Sunrise remade the episode as an entire movie.

I kind of feel this story of Amuro futzing around on some island with some kids works fine as a 22-minute episode, but it kind of drags in places as a feature. They added some new (cartoony) villains and battles to spice it up. But I dunno. It's fine I guess. Gundam fans will probably love it as I'm sure there are all kinds of references I'm missing.

Amuro, Kai, and Char are the only returning VAs from the original anime. Most of the others are dead or just too old.
