And for the cheeks, if the anime was set in Italy, I'd probably wager that the bruises would be from all the nonnas and zias pinching his cheeks.

I almost wonder if these queer characters are filmed in a way that makes it easy to cut them out, or if they're never actually vital to the movie (to again make it easy to cut them out).
Unfortunately I'd have to actually watch those movies to find out.

It is the case, Voice. In Onward, the LGBT stuff is only in there for two minutes, plus the fact that the officer is a lesbian is a throwaway line from what I've heard.

That gay dude in Cruella showed up in parts that you could easily cut out. Her having a gay best friend isn't essential to the plot nor her character. Well, he is involved with Cruella and her adopted brothers schemes, but that isn't saying much. You could replace him with a female and nothing would change iirc. All they mention is that both are outcasts and that's why she hired him. If there was a scene in which the guy was beat up (or killed by dalmatians) that would've helped.
