Ms Marvel aka Muslim D Luffy is finally appearing in live-action format. Though not in a movie, but in a series.

• Naturally she is chubbier than the comic version
• She's still a total Captain Marvel fangirl and consooms Captain Marvel merch, even though the MCU version of Captain Marvel hasn't actually done much to gain public fame - aside from getting punched by Thanos I guess
• Either they realized that her Gomu Gomu no Mi Third Gear balloon fists look retarded, or they didn't have enough SFX budget to make her stretchy. Whatever the case, she has Green Lantern powers now.

Why even make a show about a capeshitter waifu if you end up changing her power set?

That's not necessarily true. After all, DC/Warners featured in an animated Justice League movie one of the Green Lanterns created by EVS and this was well after he'd become controversial. EVS makes pittance off of royalties for these characters, compared to what Marvel or DC would make.

The reason is probably more in line with what Voice said. They want to use one of their terrible current year 'characters' so they can pretend there weren't minority heroes before the latest virtue signal.
