Ignoring the Snyder fanbois that say it's because James Gunn announcing a pure reboot that hurt the movie, I am hearing that movie is terrible.

Also the first movie wasn't a big hit. It didn't even hit 400 million in the box office which isn't much for capeshit. If the budget wasn't in the 100 million range, it would have flopped as well.
