So the train groping thing (chikan) was a huge problem in the 20th century. For some weird cultural reason, Japanese women would just silently endure the gropings and do nothing. If she bothered to go to the police, the men would only get a mild punishment, small fines, at most.

If you ever heard the stat that almost all women have been groped on trains, it isn't true. I would survey my friends about it and was shocked to hear it never happened to most of them. Japan has a huge problem with groping and molesting. It's because of their Nip Pedo culture. A lot of the people being groped are underage and being groped by old goats.
