Oh, they've announced this a good while ago.
Though I take it they aren't too sure about the success as well. Otherwhise they wouldn't bring back fan favorite David Tennant to play the "We Are Sorry" Doctor to mend the wounds caused by the FemDoctor.

I certainly hope you didn't like the actual sci-fi bits of Doctor Who. The FemDoctor was already full of "The past was so sexist/racist" episodes. I have no doubt in my mind that the Black Doctor (Blactor?) will only ever visit times and spaces where it was a bad idea to be black.

10bux there will be a two-parter set in a dystopian future where Not-Trump reigns supreme.

I don't doubt the casting of Tennant makes the BBC feel better, but that was just the whim of the showrunner.

RTD is the real "savior" here. The only reason he brought Tennant back was because it would have been awkward as fuck to do a 60th anniversary story with a new Doctor (as DW anniversary specials are notoriously pure fanwank).

So he'll get all that out of the way and start fresh with Ncuti.

They already did that. It just wasn't the doc himself who was black. It was a milquetoast as you'd imagine.
