The only flaw in the plan is that people are more likely to forget RPO than Indiana Jones.
I doubt people will forget RPO. It's so obnoxiously terrible, it'll be an example for crap for ages.
Meanwhile, unless The Crystal Skull is specifically mentioned, I don't even think about it when Indiana Jones is mentioned.
It's like a shitty Bond movie or one of the many terrible Hellraiser movies. I am aware of them in some way but I think of Brosnan racing a tank through Moskow and a skelly dude seeping out of a wooden floor or a Nazi getting his face molten away as if he just heard the most awesome Metal riff of his life.

I wouldn't even remember RPO if you people didn't keep mentioning it. They're both terrible. They'll both be forgotten. Crystal Skull by mutual consent, everybody pretends it doesn't exist now. I imagine in a hundred years if it is remembered it'll only be because people say 'Yeah that Crystal Skull was bad but that Disney Indiana Jones where Harrison Ford was like a hundred years old was even worse'. RPO, what is there to even remember? What is even the plot of RPO, beyond 'Pop Culture Reference' and 'Consoom'?

RPOs legacy will be that page that's just a list.

James Mangold is a better director than Spielberg is now, but man the new woke Indy is going to make Crystal Skull look like a masterpiece. It's going to be like two hours of that stupid "girl power" scene from Avengers The Quickening.
