Asteria is possibly the only thing coming close to being "my Star Wars". Also Werner, of course.

Re: Star Whores: Diverse Agenda
I finally tuned out after Asterix and the Griffin. I think that one was supposed to be woke or something, but the brave Sarmatian Amazons ironically enough came across as more dumb and brutish than much older Asterix depictions of stronk womyn.

Re: Star Whores: Diverse Agenda
There was so much hype over that movie, so I lowered my expectations going in. I knew it couldn't top Empire Strikes Back, so I was expecting a Return of the Jedi. Oof. I remember thunderous applause at the beginning of the movie when the Star Wars logo appeared. But by the time the movie ended, people just walked out in stunned silence. Like they'd just witnessed a fatal car crash.CuckTurdginson wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 6:48 pmThe Phantom Menace is a genuine disaster, honestly unsalvageable. It's astonishing that Rise of Skywalker is somehow worse.

So exactly like with Phantom Menace. General consensus was "I guess the pod race was kinda cool?" and "Well, there's two more coming and they have to set stuff up. The next one will be better for sure.".
The idea that people fucking loved the prequels and that criticism only came up much later is laughable. Mostly made up by zoomers that were infants when they came out.

I haven't been interested after both creators died.

I don't mind them at all. Clones is a bit shit, but Menace is watchable and Revenge is very entertaining. I was young when they came out and I didn't really differentiate much between the trilogies beyond taking note of how the ship designs had changed.

I have never met anyone that wasn't a child back then that likes the prequels.
Especially Episode I was heavily criticised with lots of coping for the next two movies.

And some fans are still salty their husbando Maul had its role in the trilogy cut short.

Mostly because he was one of the very few things with (hollow) promise.

The trailers back then made a big show of the two minutes of whoosh whoosh duel with Maul, the only decent thing about that trash.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 5:34 pmAnd some fans are still salty their husbando Maul had its role in the trilogy cut short.
But then the viewer would discover that the villain of the movie had a grand total of 1 line in the whole thing.
Maybe that's why they like him; he's a mysterious, edgy guy who doesn't speak much like Boba Fett.
Thinking about it, Soy Wars fans' tastes are very feminine.
I distinctly remember the time when i left the movie theater, feeling a mix of anger and shame because the friends i went with didn't know anything about Soy Wars, and i was the one who overhyped and oversold that shit to them (the Trainspotting dude was in it, so it must have been good, right?).Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 5:31 pmI have never met anyone that wasn't a child back then that likes the prequels.

I passed next to a kid who was saying out loud how great the movie was.
I stopped, looked at him and said "no, the movie was shit".
I kept walking immediately after so i don't know how he reacted, but i hope i left the same mark of the golden robot guy who told a kid to stop watching star wars countless times like a retard.
After that i met adults who somehow tried to defend the prequels; all boomers who watched the og trilogy when it came out in theaters, all in denial about their spiritual father Georgie being a hackfraud.
