I take it you have never touched a Vanillaware game?
Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

Nigga, I played the shit out of muramasa and odin sphere. I'm saying that Valfaris is, in its own style, as beautiful as those games.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 5:02 pmI take it you have never touched a Vanillaware game?

Re: Video game music
But how can you call it a 2D game when it's not even using real sprites ?

Sure. The perspective is 2D regardless.

Final Fight nails that '80s Terminator sound.
I've been trying to (slowly) learn arcade Final Fight. Game is brutal as fuck. But at least I can listen to the music while Andore buttslam-combos me to death.

The Sega CD version is the best:
And let's not forget this theme from the rpg Namco X Capcom:
Frankly, that entire game has great music:
I usually reach either Sodom or the cop with Guy and 1 quarter, then the pay to win process starts.

There's a loop for Sodom, but I don't know how to do it. You throw him in the corner and then jump with specific timing so his invulnerability wears off and you can grab him. Then repeat infinitely. You don't want to do anything other than grab Sodom because he has ridiculous damage reduction to punches. The infinite punch isn't worth doing on Sodom because it takes something like 300 punches to kill him.
The subway is usually where I get shown the business. There's a specific part that spawns a shit-ton of difficult enemies and it's easy to trigger even more if you scroll too far right.
The sega cd has higher quality arrangements, but there's something about the gritty original compositions of CPS1 Final Fight that I prefer. I feel the same way about Raiden's arcade soundtrack. It's been remixed and arranged many times, but the other versions of Gallantry don't capture the bass line the way the arcade does.

If you are a Guy player, use wall jump + flying kick every time he charges.rabidtictac wrote: ↑Fri Aug 19, 2022 11:59 amThere's a loop for Sodom, but I don't know how to do it. Guy can do it not only on proper walls, but also on the corners of the ring and on the subway's entrance during the first boss fight.
