Much more accurate. The only possible influence with Barks' work is that both his work and the cartoon feature anthro ducks with a similar-ish humanoid shape.

New Duckfails can't seem to make up it's mind on whether or not it wants to be faithful to the source material. They cram in all kinds of references and homages to the Barks comics, but also change characters to the point of being unrecognizable.

Barks, Rosa and the millions of european writers never used gay characters either, cause most kids that they work was aimed at didn't give a shit about that, just that the story was engaging and entertaining.

Stop trying to earn social justice points and learn to adapt things correctly.
