Ive seen some videos on a theory that suggest Mark Hamill didnt even know Luke was going to die by CGI effect in the end either. And his reaction/facial expression after the premiere seems to suggest its true imo.

Yeah, that was the original plan of the Bene Gesserit. Jessica was supposed to get a girl instead of a boy. But Leto wanted an heir so Jessica disobeyed the order and got a boy. That girl was supposed to mate with Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen and that offspring was then supposed to be the Kwisatz Haderach. It's all stated very near the beginning of Dune so it's not even a spoiler.

Hehe, you know me too well. But say what you will, the movie got me to read the books because I figured I ought to read the books first before watching it. Naturally, my inclination to not watch movies might just mean I'll never actually see the movie but hey, found a series of books that's actually as good as people claim.
That's really rare for me. Mostly, I find people's opinions to be misaligned with mine. I've ditched The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy after less than 200 pages because I found it tedious and boring. I've ditched Discworld during the book that comes after Mort. Hard SciFi and SciFi with fantasy are usually my genre if I ever read a novel but when I find myself just phasing out mentally*, I drop that shit.


*You know that when you just read stuff automatically but absorb none of it, having to start over with a sentence or a page or even losing track of the line you were at and you decide to start reading the page over.
And then nothing on the page feels familiar. You turn a page back and still find no sentence familiar. You scan back more and finally find a sentence you remember reading. Oh yeah, right, that was happening/said/described. So you read it all over and try to actually read it instead of running on autopilot.
If I'm not very tired and that happens more than once during a dozen pages, I drop the book. Clearly I'm not interested at that point.

Yeah, it's such a waste. Kathleen Kennedy's plan was to create a Star Wars Matriarchy with Leia at the top and Rey at the center. Now Carrie Fisher is dead and Daisy Ridley wants OUT of Star Wars. Such a great plan. It's really, really great when you put women in charge of things that men built for them.

I'm surprised they even released the movie with Leia surviving after what happened to Carrie Fisher, considering this is the second film in a planned trilogy. It's not like they couldn't fix this with some quick editing.
