Speaking about Asians in The Acolyte: The thirsting for Smylo Ren is fucking unreal. It's like the critics know they can't gaslight people into thinking the storytelling or acting are amazing, so instead they just get wet for the hot guy.

They want another Reylo effect. They're that desperate, but a forced pairing between a vague SEA fuckboy and a half-negress isn't going to go the way they think. At least Daisy and Adam are white.
Speaking of critics, there really hasn't been much in terms of a herculean defense for this shitshow compared to TLJ, the latter of which felt like a by-proxy war on anyone and everyone who disliked it & claimed it was the highest form of "art" made possible. Apparently Smylo Ren was out of focus in the background in Top Gun: Maverick. Maybe he’ll get his role expanded for the third movie, I guess I’ll be that guy and say him and Squid Game guy carried me thru the last couple episodes.

I think he’s better than Kylo or the Obi Wan villains - sans I guess Vader, since he was prominent in that show, maybe less entertaining than Giancarlo or Werner Herzog - Werner Herzog can amuse me just by showing up so topping that was never going to happen. If there’s a nice thing to say - it’s segueing away from manchildren towards villains that have some intimidation factor is an obvious, positive development.

For all the shitting on this show - I’m surprised no one has mentioned Mog yet. For a show with two really good performances, and one or two ok ones and some very very bad ones (that kid, oh lord…) - he stands out as exceptionally awful.

So it’s clear the actor in question is gay in real life - and this is clear bc he sounds like that motherfucker from Will and Grace. Like he’ll be two steps away from saying shit like “oh this trip to the forest planet is going to be FABULOUUUUUUUS.”

Like this dude is such a shit actor he can’t affect a different voice for even the three lines he has in this. At least the kid who played the young twins can be explained. This must be what they meant when they said this was the gayest Star War ever.

Apparently it's just four kids wandering around the Star Wars galaxy on their cringy kid-sized speederbikes (because that sounds like a fucking great idea to give to a kid). Might try to rip off Stranger Things, who knows.
