Damn, Rushy, are they just now getting 70s movies in your country?



Cosmic Sin was pretty average. Willis is in the movie the most, surprisingly, but he doesn't really do much beyond throw a punch and shoot a gun a couple times. It's like recent Seagal movies, where he's the guy in charge while a bunch of younger actors do the action stuff.

The visuals are actually pretty good, and there's decent worldbuilding. If this had aired on SyFy I would have been pleasantly surprised. As a real movie, however, it's just there. Frank Grillo is really only in the beginning before reappearing for a final scene at the end. Costas Mandylor dies almost immediately at the beginning of the second act, but he's got great presence and isn't a goofball like his brother. I could easily see him headlining future action movies. There's also some wrestler named Lana in it, but aside from a cool yellow hairstyle she doesn't do much but smirk and pose.

The action is generic. There are three hot women in it, but none get naked. Current Year and all.

If this movie had been made in the 90s it would have starred Don "The Dragon" Wilson and Maria Ford and had porn-tier acting, but it would have been memorable. There would have been lots of kickboxing and titties and John Woo ripoff gunfights.

Also, despite the great visuals, everyone still drives trucks five hundred years in the future. Motorcycles too.

Is it that type of futuristic movie where everyone's obsessed about [thing], except for our grump protagonist who pines for the past that is Current Year?
I love that shit. It's like making a hip new movie set in the present where the protagonist hates smartphones.

The fighting and set pieces in Nu-Mortal Kombat are pretty good - I wasn’t expecting much. It’s a textbook 5.

I was about to say - that sounds like hyperbole. The movie's unremarkable but its not worse than fucking Advent Children.
