I think of it more as The Hill Have Eyes ripoff, same kind of gratuitous shit. I always preferred stuff like Friday or Halloween series. Sure they’re slasher flicks that range in quality per film, but they’re either dumb fun or legit solid depending on which. That reminds me Rush are you familiar with Joe Bob Briggs? He’s got a new show now but I watched Monstervision a lot when I was a teen, he’s one of those guys who I’m surprised the horror community is embracing due to the infiltration of wokening.

He's before my time, so I'm only really familiar with him through Cinemassacre. Seems like a cool dude.

Judging from that, I imagine he's just completely avoided anything political, personal or social, hence why nobody's got much to throw at him.

I think the studio saw how well Jamie Lee Curtis did in Halloween 2018 and wanted to copy that. As for Starship Troopers, my nigga! The original is a classic, and while the 2nd and 3rd didn’t do it for me I actually really liked the CGI films they made after. It was a good compromise in my opinion.
