Sonja was originally a 16th century gunslinger according to that video. That sounds more interesting than the Female Conan character she's been portrayed at.

That's only partially accurate. Basically when Roy Thomas was doing the Conan comic book series for Marvel he took the name of one of Howard's characters, Red Sonya of Rogatino, transplanted her to the Hyborian Age that Conan exists in, renamed her Red Sonja and based her personality off of Sword Woman and a bunch of other warrior women Howard characters. She's basically a Marvel character

Sonya/Sonja may have come from Sonia Greene, who was HP Lovecraft (a good friend of Howard's)'s wife and a Jewish woman with red hair.

Thing is that if they made her a hot red-head with big tits and perfect body, men would flock in droves to see it. Unlike Conan, it wouldn't have the baggage of the Arnold movie.

Even if they cast a white woman, she'll be as flat and masculine-looking as possible and will be covered from head to toe to protect her from the MAIL GAYZE! The villain will be a STRAIGHT WHITE MALE, and it will be an allegory for Me Too. Conan will probably show up just so she can dunk on him and show the audience that women are stronger than men.

Dude in the video is a tard if he's genuinely excited for a Current Year movie. That art from the Spaniard is wicked cool, though. Imagine a movie recreating that look.

Conan won't be in the movie, as pointed out in the video. There are rights issues, basically two separate companies own the rights to Conan and the rights to Red Sonja. The more likely scenario is that they do Not!Conan like they did in the '80s movie

Well, he's got name recognition so yeah. Arnold's been wanting to get another Conan project off the ground for years now, so this might be the only way he could do it.
