Watched this on netflix a while ago. It wasn't that bad and I was actually moved towards the end. Pretty unusual since nowadays I hate animation out of Japan and want the creators to burn in hell. Wakfu season 3 is dogshit.
Also I realized deep down I'm a nazi

I'm sure we all had the same reaction when futurama first came around, hence why I want to give it a chance.
When he did the first run of Futurama he was coming off of The Simpsons when it was still one of the best shows on television. He's doing this show having come off a terrible second run of Futurama and a Simpsons that hasn't been good in nearly twenty years.
Great expectations often lead to great disappointments.

Imagine spending a billion US dollars to be a loser. Could've watched animu and be one for free.

Pretty godlike summary. Matt hasn't been involved in a good show in years. Futurama's 2nd run was awful compared to the first 2-3 seasons.

Futurama had to hire on Al Gore's daughter as a writer in exchange for his appearances on the show. (They also had to agree to package Futurama DVDs in terrible biodegradable cardboard cases.)
It seemed to get worse after she and some other token female writers were hired on.

If you like them smashing the shit out of people for the entire duration you will love it. Otherwise the plot is dull and it's missing the charm of the first season. To me it looks like the "we have the money so lets do it" syndrome.

I thought they had Al Gore on because his daughter was
already working for them.

Matt's son, Abe Groening, is listed as one of the writers for Disenchantment. I'm sure he got hired on his own merits.

Just like Will Smith's hellspawn I assume. Nothing suspicious here.
