Resident Evil and DMC both somehow survived. Now if only we could get Lost Planet back.
Survived in middling to poor shape. Don't hope for Lost Planet to return. You may just get what you wish for. I doubt you'd like what they would make of it.
Even back in the day, when the xbox 360 was new and the gaymes industry was wayyyyy less shitty than it is today, they still couldn't make Lost Planet stick!
The best Lost Planet game was unquestionably the first one. It had a sense of exploration and wonder to it, particularly with the massive scale of enemies and constantly draining heat. Still an absolutely beautiful-looking game.
But then Lost Planet 2 came out and they changed the setting to some mediocre ones. Made it more of a co-op game. Bleah.
Lost Planet 3 was some Dead Space 3+ kinda thing.
Basically what I'm saying is Lost Planet hasn't been really good since the first game, so bringing it back is pointless. Even Onimusha had a better track record of good games than that! Speaking of which, Cuckcom are finally providing an hd port of the best Onimusha game: Onimusha 2.
I still remember seeing a demo of Lost Planet running at a local store, back before I had an Xbox 360 or any HD console. I thought it was the best-looking video game I had ever seen in my life. I couldn't believe a game could look that amazing and still have fun gameplay. The scale of the environments and enemies was just shocking to me.
Fast forward to Current 2025 and video games barely look better than Lost Planet or Dead Space did back in the day. The resolutions are better and framerates are locked but the artistic vision has degenerated.

Lost Planet 2: I actually liked the progression of unlocking stuff and the environment variety, it felt like they were trying to splice some MonHun DNA in there. I may be biased though because I played with friends and we loved that shit.
Lost Planet 3: Tried to go back to the roots of the original. I liked being a colonizer (lawl) driving around a big rig mech, and the ability to return to base and upgrade your kit was a neat idea. It just was hard to capture what that first game did.
