The cherry on the shit sundae is, whereas Ready Player One got lots of praise from idiots, the only praise I could find for Ready Player Two is this one short blurb from The Wall Street Journal:

Imagine being so desperate for someone to write a positive blurb about your garbage book you turn to the talk show host. Also, I think da PAC Nigguh is right that the reason why nerd consumers of the world have turned on Cline is they've grown to resent the fact that he's living their dreams; making millions and getting Hollywood deals for making soulless pop culture garbage. When Ready Player One came out, these losers were so caught up in consuming they were eager to praise one of their own, but now his unearned success has made them bitter towards him.

And it will certainly make for a good movie. Supposedly its already in the early stages of development - but so is the movie adaptation for Armada, a book so relevant it's already been forgotten.
