Rumors hint Marvel wants to transition from KANG to Doom as the big bad.

Probably a more acceptable villain since he's *white*, and Eastern European no less.
This would however require them to pull of a live-action Fantastic Four that doesn't suck balls.
Also not entirely sure how he would work regarding the MCU's ever-increasing stakes. Unless he has a keikaku to destroy all the multiverses twice over he won't cut it as a major villain.

I'll be interested in seeing how they adapt Dr. Doom to the movies. If the MCU is good at anything, it's selling ridiculous-looking characters to us in a live-action setting. Putting a guy in a Captain America suit in a movie and not having audiences laugh at him might be their most enduring accomplishment.

And Dr. Doom could be the most challenging Marvel villain to adapt. He's supposed to be an evil genius, but he also looks like a goofball AND his honest-to-god real name is Viktor von Doom. He works in the comics, but the movies have never pulled off a decent Dr. Doom. I hope that they can this time. I'm keeping an open mind about it.

Yeah. That's been the #1 complaint of the MCU even during the "good" days. They have been terrible at adapting villains in it.
