I'd consider myself an average joe when it comes to Capeshit, so I can say for certain that the fatigue is real. I tapped out after Endgame, like a lot of people.

The only Superhero films that I love are Superman 1 & 2 and Batman 1 & 2. I was a kid when those came out and superheroes are supposed to be for kids. I have no real desire to rewatch any of the others, let alone the new woke crap.

I've been reading the Facebook replies to this article. 99% of them are people saying "No, we don't want wacky, silly MCU movies! That's WHY we're fatigued!"

I thought this comment was interesting because it goes into detail. I'm not sure if I agree with it, but it does seem to sum up what a lot of the disenfranchised fans feel.

I think for a film franchise to last, they have to do what the best bands do - grow with their audience rather than keep trying to recruit yet another young crowd over and over again.

MCU is doing the opposite. It got increasingly darker and more serious, taking in some effective thriller / espionage / mystery and even some horror, culminating in the deaths of popular characters.

It's now regressed. If you were 16 when Iron Man was released in 2008 you are now 31 years old and the logical evolution for the MCU should have been movies like Logan, Joker, Blade or more R-rated territory.

Instead, the most recent movies have been increasingly juvenile - older fans are getting tired of the same formula while newer fans are not being recruited as they've simply too much catching up to do.

I was already fatigued after 10 minutes of the first Avengers movie.
Watching people like Nasty Cockslut and White Trash Ellis gushing over that childish and predictable garbage is how i started hating them.

I don't think there's a great answer. Wacky and zany stuff can work and serious stuff where Dr. Octopus anal rapes Mary Jane to death can work. The underlying movie not being shit matters way more than tone.

I think the problem is that we haven't had an origin story for Spiderman in the last five weeks. We really need one of those again, so people know who he even is.

Many jewtubers insist that the fatigue is "only due to declining quality, not the genre overstaying its welcome" like a form of cope. The media's been oversaturated with this shit for over a decade, and certain people (including myself) got tired of it even long before most of the wokeshit hit since the overwhelming presence + advertisement of capeshit was obnoxiously shoved in our faces on the daily, even when purposefully avoiding it. About time the decay finally accelerated.

Woke bullshit wasn't even a thing when I lost all interest in the genre. Its just goofy and gay and they don't seem to know what tone they want to go for.
