You really can't get by on voice acting alone. Historically, the first cartoon actors were also radio actors. Some of them were radio DJs. And they did live-action work if possible.
It's an extremely fickle business. A lot of the 80's voice actors I grew up with can't get work and have to do the convention circuit.

Yeah, William Conrad was a big radio guy before he got into TV and everyone found out he was fucking fat.

Nobody knows what you look like in voice work, and most of them won't know what your name is either. At best, a dude with a memorable voice (like Tony Jay) is instantly recognizable in any role. If they're also a good actor, well that helps. But Tony Jay has been in all sorts of games, tv and movies. Including a lot of shit that he probably thought was beneath him.

And Brak ain't no fucking Tony Jay. Ain't no William Conrad neither.

Sounds to me like Brak Guy got a useless communications degree, skated for a while on Space Ghost and then landed where every useless degree ends up anyway: entry level shit work.
