I've lost a lot of data do to HDD crashes. I'm quite ashamed.
I decided to start backing up to discs again. I'm too poor for tape drives.
I burned a bootleg Blu-ray movie for myself for the first time a few months ago.
Watching movies isn't as fun as it was when I was a kid. The internet has spoiled mee. I'm too connected
Turning my brain off and putting the internet hate machine on pause doesn't don't for me. I'm not saying I'm smart. I can't relax.
Shelves and shelves full of stuff that I could just have in my computer, or on Netflix, or on a USB stick.
I think the general public is way too trusting of streaming services. First of all, they're in a constant state of flux. For years Netflix cornered the market, but now all of those old films and television shows that weren't made by Netflix are being pulled from Netflix because every damn studio is making their own streaming service. Second, I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing these services censor and re-edit certain films. In fact, I would be shocked if Disney+ doesn't re-edit some of their old films. Disney notoriously only care about two things: 1. milking as much money as possible out of their properties (the most disgusting example I can think of is the Disney Vault). 2. maintaining their family-friendly image, so they can continue to make as much money as possible. Granted, I don't think Netflix or Amazon Prime of any of the other non-Disney streaming services will do anything too awful within the next few years, but who knows what things will be like a decade from now. I would rather continue to buy physical media than trust Hollywood to not fuck things up.
My recommendation is continue to buy physical media, but upgrade from DVD to blu-ray or 4K Ultra HD blu-ray.

Jewish Brain healers have never worked for me in any capacity.
There's good reasons to be a little jitterbug and if anything its proof that I'm not defective.
