And of course Snyder had the hard on for snapping Zod's neck. The only reason I didn't get mad as others when I saw it was precisely because how Snyder handled Superman and the Kents the whole movie. The whole movie is Jonathan Kent saying fuck people let them die and Superman destroying someone's car due to getting water being poured on him. Also Superman commiting genocide by killing all the fetuses on the ship. And this doesn't even get to all the destruction that he and Zod did in So why would this Superman have a hesitation on killing Zod? He won't. It's shit but consistent shit.

a friend was defending Snyder to me a few nights back, But he did concede he is the wrong guy to do a Superman flick. That he would be more at home doing Authority. I sarcastically went "yeah, he'd be really good at lining up Bryan Hitch's panels with his viewfinder".

Actually with Piccolo dead, they couldn't use the balls during the Vegeta fight. Your point still stands since Goku did that with the Androids though in that scenario. Goku, who even Toriyama doesn't consider a hero, does that but your Superman can't be bothered to minimize the damage you have problems.

The main reason Superman holds back on Earth is the make sure he doesn't fuck shit up due to how powerful he is. Snyder of course doesn't understand this. I still laugh at the Batman getting raped in prison interview. While I got the point he was making, it seemed to be a weird time to bring it up.

I agree that Goyer isn't even great. But that even he had the brain to realize that Superman snapping Zod's neck especially at that time is a bad idea. Funny thing Superman killing someone can work. It had to be a few movies into the universe with Superman's character developed. The killing shaking Supes to his core and finding his way to live with the decision because he did it as a truly last resort. It also would have resonated with the audience better instead of the outrage of that movie.

The funny part of the snapped neck was Snyder fan bois going oh Superman needed to do that to understand that killing is wrong. Like normal people kill once to understand that. I always laughed at that.
