Watching I, Mudd.
One of the best episodes of TOS yet. Roger Carmel is such a brilliant foil for Shatner. Mudd is almost like the equivalent of Q for Kirk, the irreverent trickster who just livens up the show whenever he randomly pops up. It's a shame they didn't have more episodes together(not counting the animated one).

I dread to imagine what they did with Mudd in Discovery.

Why the past tense? That'd be kickass. Harry could throw 1950s western quotes at them instead of Moby Dick ones. "A starship, like any other source of power, is a force for either good or evil, being neither in itself, but dependent upon those who possess it."

Yeah, I just read about it. Their excuse was "meh, he was an asshole anyway". Also, they completely missed the point of his relationship with Stella and made her nice.

And yeah, you make a good point. All villains have to be meanie haters these days. Or emo, like Kylo. It'd be nice to get another chill dude who just happens to be in conflict of interest to the main characters. Harry is fun, because you get the impression he genuinely likes hanging out with Kirk, and I think even Kirk kinda enjoys winding him up. If they weren't on opposite sides, they'd probably be bar mates.
