I saw the first season of that and wasn't sure whether I liked it or not. It was simultaneously the greatest and worst thing I had ever seen.Rapeculture wrote: ↑Tue May 01, 2018 4:24 amThe cyborg chick at fhe end is apparently named Lexx, possibly a reference to that crazy Cucknadian sci-fi show from the late 90's/early 2000's.

There is nothing else quite like it, that's for sure. Xenia Seeberg (the chick who plays Xev starting with season 2) was exceptionally hot, so the show had at least that in its favor. I also liked the tone and sense of humor. I thought it also had a pretty satisfying series finale. I'm going to go back and watch the series again when I move into my new place.Guest wrote: ↑Tue May 01, 2018 11:36 amI saw the first season of that and wasn't sure whether I liked it or not. I take it this was before she melted down a set of Goodyear tires and injected them into her face?

Re: Non-cape tv show
So apparently, Bruce Campbell quit playing Ash.
Which I am very slightly sad about since Ash is still a complete badass, but there's no denying that Ash vs Evil Dead was nowhere near as good as it could have been.
It was basically more of Army Of Darkness, but without the medieval setting, so just a comedy with Deadites in it. And most of the comedy came from the cringe whenever they tried to act dramatically.
Storyline wise, it was pretty much off the rails midway through the second season. They had no plan whatsoever and just relied on Campbell's charisma throughout the whole thing.

Yeah, it probably didn't help that the showrunner packed his bags and left during the second season too. It was probably one of the final nails in the coffin for the show.

True, but even then, the decision to ignore basic time travel logic in the s2 finale and kill off Lucy Lawless just to bring her back and revert her to a mwahaha evil character was dumb as shit.Rapeculture wrote: ↑Wed May 02, 2018 10:59 amYeah, it probably didn't help that the showrunner packed his bags and left during the second season too. I don't think any of that was the original showrunner's plan at all. He wanted Kelly to be Ash's daughter. How? Ash bangs Kelly's mom in 1982. Here's an article on it:Rushy wrote: ↑Wed May 02, 2018 11:12 amTrue, but even then, the decision to ignore basic time travel logic in the s2 finale and kill off Lucy Lawless just to bring her back and revert her to a mwahaha evil character was dumb as shit.Rapeculture wrote: ↑Wed May 02, 2018 10:59 amYeah, it probably didn't help that the showrunner packed his bags and left during the second season too. Re: Non-cape tv show
It sounds like there was lots of behind the scenes bitching and drama. Probably a big reason Bruce Campbell is done with it all. I know he also said he felt he was getting too old to do action and physical comedy.
