Re: Movie Thread
Everything must become a cinematic universe.
Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

Re: Movie Thread
I mean I assume he spent all those decades thinking of Fury Road details, probably bustling with ideas.
Hardy and Theron didn't like making Fury Road, Anya Taylor Joy didn't like making Furiosa. Chris Hemsworth had fun - but the only one who seems like he'd be kind of stoked to do a fifth movie is Mel - and he and Miller *are* still friends, but I'm sure Reddit and Twitter would pop a collective blood vessel.
Maybe if Gibson's Flight Risk movie is a hit, they'll flirt with the idea. I do like the Gibson trilogy, even if I've had a hard time getting into Beyond Thunderdome.

Re: Movie Thread
I think all of that would be a terrible idea and that instead the game is a better Mad Max movie.
The setting has potential but Furiosa and possibly even Max don't. If he takes a long or longer for the next movie he might as well bin it during production.

Nah. It couldn't be your movie is shit. It's TikTok's fault.
Also when was the last time he saw a movie? In the late 90s? Except for children and some horror movies, Everything is over 2 hours long.

Re: Movie Thread
In the age of several hours long YT essay videos, Mahvel capeshit hitting 2 to 3 hours, binge watching entire seasons of shows and venerating The Wire and The Sopranos, that's a desperate take.
The TikTok brain rot zoomers sure as shit didn't go to the cinema to watch your shit and then gave it bad reviews.
Skibidi toilet L rizz, bozo!

Re: Movie Thread
I wish movies were still 90 minutes of concise plotting. That hasn't been the case since Jizzney-Mahvul took over theaters.
As for Costner, he should know by now that it's more than likely a matter of genre than length. He's huffing his own farts if he thinks a multi-part western epic poem (or whatever he thinks he's made) is going to draw eyeballs from modern audiences. That kind of thing would have been a hit in the 1950s... Maybe. It's a movie out of time.
I'd never tell anyone to make something other than the kind of movie they want to make. But commercially successful is an entirely different beast from "the movie I wanted to make." You have to reconcile yourself to that. You either create a focus-tested product based upon what you believe will sell or you say "damn the numbers" and create what makes you happy.
Sour grapes over lost sales won't ensure future sales.

Plus he made the Gary Stu mega snoozefest Postman. Anyone seeing Costner in any kind of burger period clothing is going to be cautious to begin with.
A single mention of the word "slow" in any review or marketing text will kill most people's interest with that fucking stinker in mind.

Re: Movie Thread
I still can't get over what a dumb, deluded motherfucker Costner is. The Yellowstone guys save Costner's career and in thanks, Costner spits in their face by quitting the show and makes his own crappy ripoff. Costner lost his wife over it by literally betting the farm on this turkey.
