That is until that HD remaster thingie just removed the fog and had the protagonists explore a world that just stopped existing after a certain distance.

I must've been under a rock because despite the fact that I've played Ult before and after DLC, I'm just now finding out that you need that shit online service in order to play non locally.

And even though Ult really is just Smash 4 with extra steps forward and backward, there's little details I like about it. It's the most dynamic of the series and it has the best and worst Classic mode where it just seems like a mini character tailor made Melee Adventure mode.

It looks visually dazzling, but then Mario spoke.

It's like when you first watched that Tom & Jerry movie and they suddenly started talking.

Is that real? I don't think I had anything to drink today but it feels like In watching some nonsense wasted and misremember everything.

I actually kind of like Bowser - I think Jack Black is doing something with this. Pratt isn't bringing anything to the table tho - its Hollywood accounting all over again, we can't hire any voice actors despite the fact that most of them would do a better job than names while costing less money.
Animation's nice, tho - definitely in agreement there.

So far, literally everyone but Pratt is doing it for me. Chris Pratt is just Chris Pratt but slightly less Chris Pratt. And yes, the animation is pretty neat, which is mainly unique to illumination's usual fluff, but there's still little bits of their stuff here and there, like how the mouths look.

My big thing with Mario - and this is the spergiest contribution I have - is that he looks really fleshy and strange, not necessarily Jizzney Wars tier uncanny valley - but its unsettling.

I guarantee that, regardless of the actual quality of the film, the kids will absolutely love it and it will do gangbusters. Though they'll probably ask why Mario doesn't sound like he usually does.

It's the uncanny mushroom valley. He's just different enough from the Nintendo standard to be ever so slightly unsettling.
