13 fucking frames in handheld with the joycons. Bruuuuuuh. But his whole test was probably bogus anyways, because he used the charge attack to test it. So all we really know is that the worst possible ghetto setup N64 on a modern tv tests 2 frames faster than the fastest version of nintendo's n64 emulation.

I don't think even nintendrones can justify why the slant eyes over at nintendo suddenly have to charge more for some stolen emulator that doesn't even play them that good, plus we all know they have a terrible track record of actually releasing games.

There are comparison videos online proving that the emulation on the switch online for N64 is the worst nintendo official emulation yet. Worse than Wii U, worse than Wii and worse than gamecube.
Yeah, nintendo emulating their older consoles goes back to the gamecube. Master Quest used an emulator to run Ocarina. Nintendo has gotten lazier over the years and the NSO emulation uses the same emulator (same settings too I assume) to run every fucking n64 game on NSO. So that's why most of the games run like shit and look terrible, with missing fog and extra lag.
The switch also adds a frame of lag to every game no matter what. I don't mean emulated games either. Every game. I assume this is because of its mobile phone architecture and the way it interacts with shit. The extra frame isn't dependent upon docked or undocked either. In docked, you could easily get much more than a frame of extra lag based on your setup. An extra frame of lag is the MINIMUM you can get on the switch. No matter what, the lowest that lag can possible be on Switch is three frames. Which would be fine if every game could hit that point. But basically no games do. Most games on switch have at least 5 frames of lag. Ocarina probably has more like 10 and most of the shitty emulation on Switch has 7+ frames of lag. That probably doesn't matter for phantasy star IV or whatever the fuck, but it matters for action games.
The problem with "but it's just one frame of lag" is that this is all extra lag. You have:
-The inherent lag of the game (3+ frames of lag unless the porting job was godlike)
-Switch lag (1+)
-Lag of your setup (unknown)
-additional lag from a shit porting job (unknown)
So if you are playing on switch in handheld (the lowest possible lag the switch can have), you could still have 10 frames of fucking lag or whatever from playing ocarina of time, because nintendo sucks massive balls.
That's all just on a playability level, without even mentioning the way missing fog and improper coloring ruins the appearance of n64 games.
