Megaman became shit when he got his mega buster.
It's fine in MM6 and I think MM4. MM5 is where they really fucked up the balancing. The X games also made the buster too strong.

MM6 mega buster is strong but not stronger than the One-Punch Man charged punch, Jet Mega's mobility, Knight Man's mace or Flame Man's special weapon. MM5 having only shit weapons just leaves you no alternative but to hold charge the entire fucking game.

MM9 removed both the charge and the slide, which was a nerf too far imo. MM10 Proto Man has the charge and slide but is limited to only 2 lemons onscreen at a time and his charge shot isn't that strong. MM V game boy removed the charge buster and replaced it with a charged rocket punch that doesn't travel fullscreen (but lemons do.)

My point is that the charged shot can be balanced well if the developers are thinking about it.

MM3 was always my favorite.
I grew up with Battle Network - my favorite there was the 3rd game, too! Last 3 are too easy.

I don't like games where enemy projectiles can travel through walls.

I assume the big crossover here is autism.

Your projectiles can travel through walls too. Always good to remember, as certain sections can be made much easier if you snipe enemies before even engaging with the level design.

Walls are just an illusion.
Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

That shouldn't be a thing by default. Metroid got it right, requiring the wave beam for that.

Quake II remaster by NightDive Studios just dropped for every console. Apparently it runs at 60fps locked even portable on Switch with all the dlc and Quake 64 included as a bonus.

I don't have a very high opinion of base Quake II based on what I've seen. Especially not compared to Quake original. Too many hitscanners and some weird level design. But this version looks very definitive and NightDive have a godlike track record with these ports and remasters.

But why would I want to play Quake 2?

I hope Quake 64 wasn't remade and runs on a (poorly coded) emulator.
