Weren't they trying to do it online last year?
Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

Re: Fighting Games
Because almost all fighting games have shit netcode because Japan is a bunch of xenophobic fucks who only think about themselves.

Re: Fighting Games
My interest in the new Melty Blood dropped a lot after I found out they've removed all (or most) OC characters, aka the ones I actually liked (most importantly Sion and Night of Wallachia).
Also no Nero because apparently he got written out of the Tsukihime reboot thingie.

Re: Fighting Games
It's more of a case that they won't use Baka Gaijin GGPO and they would rather do it themselves which was garbage in Street Fighter 5. Arc Sys seems to have listened so all the bitching might have actually paid off, especially with Covid revealing just how shit fighting games are without in person tournaments.

Yep. If you're not able to play with regulars (either using stable online or in-person) then fightan gaymes lose a lot of their appeal. Part of this is the problem of the developers not providing single-player content with good AI for their games. "Good AI" in this case meaning AI that mimics player behavior. Older fightan games like Tekken 6 and Virtua Fighter 4 Evo used to do this. Modern fightan gayes are too preoccupied with trying to sell themselves as a faggy live service, so they give only a bare shell of modes (that all suck) to play alone.
Imagine if you could play a fighting game solo and actually learn skills while having fun. That almost never happens. Sure, an AI can never play exactly like a human, but most fightan games don't even fucking try. Fighting and racing games can both make use of replays in crafting ai that behaves in a humanlike way. But they'd rather tack on a shit "story" modo with AI that reads inputs, so single play is as useless as possible.
I've been getting back into shmups and beat em ups because they have that depth and intensity that fighting games have, but are single-player experiences primarily.
