Re: What are you playing?
It's a different team handling the port than the team who originally made KotoR 2. I'm not crazy about Aspyr, but their porting job for KotoR 1 was decent enough. Anyway, who was really to blame for the game being unfinished? I don't think Obsidian was. Weren't they given seven months or some ridiculous crunch time to make the game? As is typical for Obsidian, really. They always got shit on when it came to release dates. And their ideas have always outpaced both their funding and timetables. But this is the kind of game dev I like the most. At least they always seem to be trying for something. I enjoyed Stick of Truth, which is more than I can say for most rpgs made in the (((current year))) era.
I like KotoR 2. It's a big mess, but it's ambitious beyond the scope of the material. Far better than any of the expanded media (except the han solo adventures, which were just fun) and better than all of the movies except the first two. As much as people gush over Kreia, I have to admit she is one of my favorite rpg characters. And unlike Torment, you don't have to read a fucking novel to play kotor 2. The game expands upon kotor's character progression and allies in a lot of important ways, such as being able to push companion alignment towards your own, based on your bond with them.
KotoR 2 feels like a prototype in a lot of ways. A springboard Obsidian would use when making New Vegas, and which Bioware would crib ideas from for Fagon Age. KotoR 1 is painfully black-and-white compared to all three of the above-mentioned titles.

Isn't Aspyr working on the woke, current year remake of KotoR 1?

What's new? Is the silent protagonist coming out as Revan be replaced with coming out as trans?
The Dark Side route dialogue options are absolutely dogshit. You turn into some kind of cackling saturday morning cartoon villain - which none of the good guys apparently take seriously enough to be alarmed.rabidtictac wrote: ↑Mon May 30, 2022 10:15 amKotoR 1 is painfully black-and-white compared to all three of the above-mentioned titles.
Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

Obsidian is also woke and dead.Gendo's Ocular Dickhole wrote: ↑Mon May 30, 2022 1:37 pmIsn't Aspyr working on the woke, current year remake of KotoR 1?
The Outhouse Worlds got good reviews just because it came out at the same time as Failout 76, but it's still amateurish cancer that combines the worst of Fallout and Borderlands.
With dialogues and quests written by Tumblr dykes, and no crafting system at all "because it's a socialist gayme" (?).
The only good modern crpg that i've played is Underrail, and i've heard good things about Kingdom Come Deliverance.
In other news:
Reboot of the Jajamaru games, featuring a lot of unlockables and playable characters, and a good remixed soundtrack:

I think the ninja kun games are already available through Arcade Archives. I'm not sure which games are, but I know I've seen them.
The leveling system is lame too. A lot of guns become useless fast due to leveling (unlike New Vegas, where you can use the cowboy repeater the entire game) or require a ton of parts investment if you want to TRY to bring that gun along. The game has unique guns, but they're underwhelming and too low level. OW feels about a quarter the length of NV, overall. Because all your gear has levels, it really limits what you can use to gear that falls within your own level range and the level range of enemies. Dragging a low-level piece of gear up costs way too many resources. So this negatively impacts both fashion and gunplay.
Outer Worlds is pretty awful, yeah. The writing suffers from trying to be too saturday morning wacky on the one hand, and tumblrwoke on the other. The only companion who feels fleshed out is the asexual, quirky, lesbo tumblr-insert. Whose companion quest is to find her a girlfriend-free female.Obsidian is also woke and dead.

Outer worlds is trash and shows that Obsidian is a dead shell of what it used to be.
